Let's
give you a short brief about Uganda: it's the place you
will find the source of the Nile; it's the home to half
of the world's remaining Mountain Gorillas; home of the
breathtaking Rwenzori, also known as the Mountains of
the Moon, and that's even before we talk about the innumerable
species of flora and fauna. That, too, is before we start
to describe the remarkable Bujagali falls.
Pardon us, will you, because we will not tell the story
on this page. We just can not. The story of Uganda's attractions
is too good to be told on a webpage. You need to see for
yourself. We are only picking out a few of them here for
you, but we are sure you will discover many more:
Kidepo Valley National Park
You can get there both by road and by air. Chartered aircraft
are available from Entebbe International Airport to the
Park Headquarters. The park offers breathtaking Savannah
landscapes, which end in rugged horizon. The park is one
of Uganda's most spectacular parks. It is 1,442 square
kilometres and harbours scenery unsurpassed in any other
park in East Africa. The park harbours a great diversity
of animal species than other parks.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
You can get there both by road and by air. The park
that covers a 2,000 sq stretch, boasts of spectacular
of different bird species. It is also a haven for a
number of hippopotamus, bucks as well as elephant, lion
and crocodile. It is bordered to the North by the Rwenzori
mountains and to the West by Lake Edward, and is divided
in two sectors, the North and the South.
Sezibwa Falls
Located in Mukono off the Jinja Road highway At Ssezibwa
falls, covered in thick green shrubbery, nature is courteously
at harmony with the singing birds, croaking frogs and
veering trees. There is also the spectacular view of
the violent waters falls.
Bwindi Impenetrable forest and National Park
The closest large town is Kabale. A magnificent verdant
swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift
Valley, this ancient rainforest - one of the few in
Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age
- is home to roughly half of the world’s mountain
gorillas.
Murchison Falls National Park
Located northwest, approximately 90km from Masindi.
You can get there by road means Besides the beauty of
the water waterfalls, the park hosts some of the continent’s
rare species like hippo and crocodile and a variety
of water birds species like the shoebill stork.
Bujagali Falls
Located in the Eastern town of Jinja Here, you’ll
enjoy water rafting adventures, Nile high Jump or simply
boats rides across the Nile.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Located in the South Western Uganda. You can get there
by road. There are three campsites where you can relax
after a day’s trail of the fauna and flora. Bordered
by Lakes, Edward and George, the park is billed for
its chimpanzee trekking in the nearby Maramagambo forest
Uganda Museum
Located a few kilometres from the city centre You can
get there by road. The museum offers a display of Uganda’s
cultural heritage where one can see ethnological and
natural-historical exhibitions. It is a vivid reminder
of the country’s colourful past
Mweya Safari Lodge
Located within the heart of the spectacular Queen Elizabeth
National Park. It is the safe and relaxing haven after
a day out in the wild at the Queen Elizabeth park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
13 kilometres from Kisoro, Kabale. Found in South West
on the Rwanda-Congo border, with three extinct volcanoes
and extensive swamps/ here, you will enjoy gorilla tracking,
watch elephants and take forest walks. You also get
to enjoy bird watching.
