 BANKING
Uganda enjoys a vibrant financial sector. Banks are easily accessible country-wide, and all have fully embraced ATM technology, making access to your money even easier. Standard Chartered, Barclays and Crane banks also accept Visa Electron cards at their ATM machines.

STANBIC BANK
Its head offices are located on Charm towers on Kampala road in the city center. It replaced the former Uganda commercial Bank after South Africa’s Standard Bank took over all assets and liabilities of the former. It offers all services ranging from Banking to telegraphic transfer and all foreign currencies. It opens from Monday to Saturday 8:30 am to 4pm. It is also listed on the local stock exchange. It has a branch in almost all the parts of the country.


BANK of AFRICA
It’s a new bank in the country, its roots mainly in West Africa, Bank of Africa penetrated the local market after taking over from the former Allied Bank. Since its just started It has a few branches and yet to open a branch upcountry. It opens from Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm in the evening.

STANDARD CHARTERED BANK
Standard chartered is the biggest international bank operating in the country. It has branched in Kampala, Mbarara, Mbale, Jinja and Gulu. A British bank has brought on board several services including phone banking and the Visa. It has a secure and big parking yard. The Visa ensures that the customer accesses his funds in any part of the world on a visa machine. It opens Monday to Sunday.

BANK of BARODA
It is another international bank operating in the country. It has lived here for quite along time and offering almost all services. Its head offices are located on Kampala road. It opens daily from Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm. International money transfers and the bank also handles traveler’s cheques. It has branched in Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Mbale, Masaka and Mbarara. It has a secure parking fast services.

CRANE BANK
Cranes bank has won several international awards as being one of the best banks in the country. Its head offices are located on Kampala road in the middle of the city. It has brances in Kampala, Jinja, Iganga, Masaka and Kabale. It offers services ranging from banking, telegraphic transfers and international banking. It opens from Monday to Saturday, 8:30am to 5pm. It has a spacious parking.

DFCU BANK
It is situated in the city center with more than five branches in the city. It provides international banking services and telegraphic transfers among others.

BARCLAYS BANK
Berclays Bank is one of the longest serving banks foreign banks in the country. It provides all banking services including telegraphic transfers and phone banking as well extended operating hours for Prestige customers.

ORIENT BANK
Orient Bank's main branch is located at Orient Plaza, Plot 6/6A, Kampala Road, in Kampala.The bank's other branches are in Jinja at Busoga Square, Nkrumah Rd, William Street, Kawempe in Kampala, Entebbe Airport and Entebbe Town in Entebbe. Beside a service catalogue that provides a variety of bank account options, the bank also offers debit and credit cards; the OrientXpress Blue debit card and OrientXpress Gold and OrientXpress Platinum credit cards.

CENTENARY BANK
Centenary Bank has branches countrywide, but its main branch is located at Plot 7, Talenta House, Entebbe Road.
