MAJOR
TOWNS | MBARARA
The
western town which formerly home of the Ankole kingdom,
has remarkable changes in terms of development in the
recent. One of the things the town identifies with is
a cow, which is a sign of wealth.
Mbarara serves as a good overnight stop for visitors going
to the western Mountains of the Moon region or the South
Western mountains and forests of Kabale and Kisoro. The
town has an interesting history. When the Abachwezi kingdom
folded around AD 1500, the Ankole kingdom was formed,
with Mbarara as it’s Capital. Famed as the land
of milk and honey, Mbarara does have more than its fair
share of beautiful women as well.
Take cue, all you single, searching, lonely souls!
But Mbarara is not just about gorgeous women, it does
afford its visitors a vibrant night life - mostly owing
to the lovable Vision Empire discotheque. It does boast
a few nice hotels too, so your daytime enthrallment is
guaranteed.
