The 8th Women Affairs Ministers Meeting (8WAMM)

Venue: Speke Resort Munyonyo
Date: 11th – 14th June
Theme: Financing Gender Equality for Development and Democracy

Uganda’s Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, the Hon Syda Bbumba will chair the meeting.
8WAMM will bring together a rich mix of some 250-300 Women’s Affairs Ministers; Senior Officials; parliamentarians; magistrates, judges and lawyers; women entrepreneurs; gender and youth civil society organisations; and international, Commonwealth, regional and bilateral partner agencies from around the Commonwealth and globally.

Commonwealth People's Forum

Venue: Hotel Africana
Date: 19th - 22nd November 2007
Theme: Realising People’s Potential

The Commonwealth People's Forum is the major Commonwealth civil society summit at CHOGM and it brings together a cross section of civil society organisations, professional associations, and cultural groups. In addition, it provides a valued space for civil society organisations (CSOs) to dialogue with government representatives at the time of CHOGM and to feed civil society ideas, issues and concerns into the CHOGM process.

Commonwealth Business Forum

Venue: Sheraton Kampala Hotel
Date: 20th – 22nd November 2007
Theme: The Commonwealth: The Untapped Potential

The Commonwealth Business Forum is one of the events that will precede the Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting (Chogm) which will be held in Uganda from 23 to 25 November. It brings together members of the business community from the 53 members of the Commonwealth and will be opened by H.E the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni.

Commonwealth Youth Forum

Venue: Imperial Botanical Hotel Entebbe

Theme: To be communicated

The Commonwealth Youth Forum is one of the most important meetings held amongst Commonwealth members and provides an excellent opportunity for young people from all countries of the Commonwealth. The participants will be able to interact with each other, discuss issues and come up with action plans and recommendations, which will then be presented to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

Venue: Kampala Serena Hotel
Date: 23rd - 25th November 2007
Theme: Transforming Commonwealth Societies to achieve Political, Economic and Human Development

This is the main meeting that will be opened and closed by Her Majesty the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II and will be attended by the 53 heads of state/government of the Commonwealth countries, or their representatives.
