 SPORT/RECREATION
Golf
Golf is one of the most popular sport in the country. The middle class though accesses it. It played on a daily basis at various courses in the country. The major courses include Kitante golf course, Entebbe golf course among others. Kitante golf course and Entebbe course are 5minutes drive and 45 minutes drive respectively from the city center.

Rugby
It’s a popular sport in the country. It is played over the weekend when the national league is taking place. It is played on modern pitches that is Kyadondo rugby club five minutes away from the city center on Jinja road and Kampala rugby club almost a few minutes away from the former. Uganda has participated in very many regional, continental and international competitions.

Football
It’s Uganda’s most popular sport. It is governed by a local body known as Fufa (Federation of the Uganda football Associations), its head offices on plot 879 in Wakaliga, Mengo. Football is played on two major stadiums. That is the Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Jinja road ad Nakivubo war memorial stadium in the city center.

Tennis
Tennis, like world over is a popular sport and in Uganda it attracts crowds whenever there is a tournament. Several state of the art courts are located in the city center and always ready for action. At Makerere University, at different hotels, at the Lugogo tennis club, among other places.

Cricket
Cricket is one of the most popular games in the country. It is played at different grounds country over. It’s run by a local body, Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) with its head offices at the Lugogo National council of sports head offices. The national cricket oval is situated at Lugogo. Jinja ovals, Kyambogo, Entebbe cricket oval are the others used to play the game.

Basketball
It is a popular sport among Ugandans. It’s mostly sensitized among schools to tap talents from the grassroots. It played mostly at courts at Makerere University, YMCA courts in Wandegeya all five minutes drive from the city center. Several clubs play in the national league.
